Kodak’s Partnership Will Connect the Sports World With KODAKOne

WENN Digital, the company that licensed Kodak’s photo-centric brand for the cryptocurrency and its associated digital rights management platform, announced on Monday that it was working with the Oak View Group to connect the sports world with the upcoming KODAKOne platform. The idea is that fans and photographers in the six participating arenas, including the San Antonio Spurs’ AT&T Center, can upload and register photos on the site.

Jan Denecke, CEO of WENN Digital, said in a statement:

“We want to introduce the KODAKOne Platform to a creative audience that we believe will both benefit from its functionality and serve as early adopters.”
“Paying photographers fairly and giving them an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new economy tailored for them, with secure asset rights management built right in.”

The blockchain platform, KODAKOne and KODAKCoin cryptocurrency, according to WENN Digital CEO Jan Deneke, will provide photographers the opportunity to get to the “ground floor of a new economy” adapted for them, with the ability to manage the rights to own assets.

Photographers can register their work and store it on the KODAKOne platform. Then the community of artists interacting with the platform can use KODAKCoin as a means of payment either for licensing or for sale under the protection of an encrypted blockchain that tracks ownership and secures the rights of the performer to the content.

At six participating sports arenas, fans will be invited to download, register and publish their live-event photos or videos on KODAKOne and be able to receive a reward with payments in KODAKCoin.

Commercial director Dohnanyi said about the partnership that the centers will provide “groundbreaking access to the world of sport and entertainment”. Jan Denecke further added that the arenas were a “natural” place to start given “the millions of fantastic live event photographs generated each year at OVG’s Arena Alliance venues”.

The OVG Arena Alliance is a member alliance of world-class centers, with more than 65 million consumers participating in major cities in North America every year. Oak View raised $100 million in the round of funding earlier this year.
