One of the Chinese holders received on his (her) wallet a total of 93,947 BTC, transferred on March 25, 2018. The deal was made with a wallet: 1KAt6STtisWMMVo5XGdos9P7DBNNsFfjx7, and currently it has 85,947 bitcoins, after selling only 8,000 BTC.
According to one of the users of the Chinese forum, the BABI Finance organization was looking into the wallet’s transactions:
“BABI financial statistics found out that the account tends to buy bitcoin when it drops, this account has now become the sixth largest purse in the Bitcoin network. The five best wallets are owned by the exchanges.”
Thanks to the collected statistics, we managed to find out that this wallet received most of its bitcoins through wholesale transfers from individual accounts. Its second largest source of BTC came from Huobi, the Chinese cryptocurrency exchange.
After this amount, we see comparatively small transfers to other wallets totaling 7,800 BTC. The smallest source of bitcoins for this wallet is HaoBTC.com, another Chinese crypto exchange.
As the user of the forum added:
“We don’t know who is behind the controller behind this mysterious account. This is one of the delights of the Bitcoin network. However, with reference to the traditional financial market, the controller of this account can be a long-term investment institution.”
There was also the suggestion that this could be an exchange that creates a cold wallet, but this is only a theory, because we saw that the BTC came from two different exchanges.
